Chelsea Transfer Rumours: Garnacho set to follow Sancho to Stamford Bridge?

Chelsea have an abundance of attacking players on the books. Last summer alone they added Pedro Neto, Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix, the trio joining from Wolves, Manchester United and Ateltico Madrid, respectively. The latter could still leave this winter, with AC Milan rumoured to be keeping tabs on Felix.

However, the Blues may yet add another winger to the ranks if rumours today are anything to go by. Manchester United are prepared to listen to offers for Alejandro Garnacho as they look to fund a move for Lecce star Patrick Dorgu. United boss Ruben Amorim needs to sell before he can buy, with Garnacho one of the club’s more sellable assets.

Napoli have been heavily linked with a move for Argentine as they look to land a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following his move to PSG. Indeed, the Italian side are believed to have lodged a €50m bid for Garnacho, though no agreement is currently in place.

Might Chelsea have stolen a march on Napoli in the race for the 20-year-old? The Blues are keeping tabs on Garnacho, and have reportedly spoken with the player’s camp over a potential move. At the time of writing, Chelsea have gone from 5/2 into 6/5 to be Garnacho’s next club.

Napoli have since drifted to 9/5, with the Italian side weighing up other options, including Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi, as per Fabrizio Romano. While a winger isn’t a priority position for Chelsea, they have shown a desire to land the brightest young talent on the continent in their bid to compete for the highest honours.

Garnacho, meanwhile, is keen on regular game time having struggled to force his way into Amorim’s plans. With every player fit, Garnacho finds himself on the sidelines and having been a first team regular under Erik ten Hag; the youngster clearly doesn’t see himself as a bench warmer.

Whether he’d waltz into the Chelsea starting XI straight away remains to be seen, but the club have evidently seen enough of Garnacho that suggests they are prepared to prepared to spend big to take him to the capital this month.
