Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo is the Premier League Player of the Week after his match winning display against Brighton on Saturday. Leicester, Tottenham, Everton, Bournemouth, Manchester City, Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Chelsea and Aston Villa are also represented in the Team of the Week.
Mads Hermansen (Leicester) – 7.79
A 1-0 defeat to league leaders Liverpool may have confirmed Leicester’s relegation but Mads Hermansen did all he could to keep the Foxes fighting until the end. Indeed, the 24-year-old made seven saves and two high ball claims to help feature in the Premier League Team of the Week with a WhoScored rating of 7.79.
Pedro Porro (Tottenham) – 8.27
Pedro Porro registered his sixth league assist of the season in Tottenham’s eventual 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest, turning provider for Richarlison late on, and it’s feasible to suggest he should have managed more. Porro made seven key passes in the home defeat, that the second most by a defender in a Premier League match this season, while an additional two dribbles and two tackles saw the Spaniard land a WhoScored rating of 8.27.
James Tarkowski (Everton) – 7.64
Even in a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City, James Tarkowski makes the Premier League Team of the Week with a WhoScored rating of 7.64. There is reason to believe Everton would have secured a result against City had Tarkowski not been forced off early in the second half having made three clearances, three tackles and two aerial wins prior to his withdrawal.
Illia Zabarnyi (Bournemouth) – 7.57
Partnering Tarkowski at the back is Bournemouth’s Illia Zabarnyi after he earned a WhoScored rating of 7.57 in their Cherries’ 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday. The Ukrainian centre-back found a teammate with 94.7% of his 94 attempted passes and was on hand to make six clearances, two tackles and two interceptions to make the XI.
Nico O’Reilly (Manchester City) – 8.22
Back to Goodison Park, and Nico O’Reilly rounds off the backline having scored for the second game running in Manchester City’s 2-0 win at Everton. Not only did O’Reilly get the better of Jordan Pickford with his only effort, the 20-year-old also managed four clearances and three dribbles on his way to a WhoScored rating of 8.22.
Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) – 10.0
With a perfect WhoScored 10 rating, Bryan Mbeumo is the Premier League Player of the Week. Mbeumo was directly involved in three of Brentford’s four goals in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Brighton, netting with two of four shots and providing one assist from seven key passes. Four dribbles and four tackles capped a memorable afternoon for the Cameroon international.
Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest) – 8.47
The sole Nottingham Forest representative in the Premier League Team of the Week, Elliot Anderson scored his second league goal of the season in Monday’s 2-1 win at Tottenham, netting with his only effort in north London. The 22-year-old worked hard off the ball, too, as he made seven clearances and two tackles to return a WhoScored rating of 8.47.
Martin Odegaard (Arsenal) – 8.47
Having also earned a WhoScored rating of 8.47, Martin Odegaard joins Anderson in the middle of the park. The Arsenal skipper was key in Sunday’s 4-0 win at Ipswich, providing one assist from five key passes, while the Norwegian wasn’t afraid to chance his luck having managed three shots at Portman Road.
Pedro Neto (Chelsea) – 8.27
Chelsea’s hero at Craven Cottage, Pedro Neto scored for the first time since February as he bagged a late winner in Sunday’s 2-1 win at Fulham. The Portuguese winger struck with one of three shots, made two key passes and completed one dribble to feature with a WhoScored rating of 8.27.
Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) – 9.12
Aston Villa claimed a huge 4-1 win over Champions League-chasing rivals Newcastle on Saturday, with Ollie Watkins the star performer with a WhoScored rating of 9.12. Watkins bagged his 15th league goal of the season with one of five shots and provided one assist from two key passes to feature on the frontline.
Leandro Trossard (Arsenal) – 8.77
Joining Watkins in attack in the Premier League Team of the Week, Leandro Trossard netted his sixth and seventh league goals of the season as Arsenal eased past Ipswich a the weekend. The Belgian struck with two of four shots and made one kay pass to make the cut with a WhoScored rating of 8.77.
