Kylian Mbappe is the European Player of the Week following a Player of the Match showing against Las Palmas at the weekend. Montpellier, Liverpool, Chelsea, Leganes, Fulham, Manchester City, Rennes and Bournemouth are also represented in the XI.
Benjamin Lecomte (Montpellier) – 8.16
Montpellier secured just their third league win of the season as they beat Monaco 2-1 on Friday, with goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte key. The French shotstopper made 10 saves and two high ball claims to land a WhoScored rating of 8.16.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) – 8.49
Darwin Nunez may have been Liverpool’s hero at Brentford on Saturday but the 2-0 victory marked another solid showing from Trent Alexander-Arnold, who earned a WhoScored rating of 8.49 in the win. Trent claimed his fifth league assist of the season in west London, that coming from one of five key passes.
Matija Nastasic (Leganes) – 9.12
Matija Nastasic was the star as Leganes ended Atletico Madrid’s lengthy winning run. Indeed, the former Manchester City centre-back scored his side’s only goal and made eight clearances in a clean-sheet attaining display.
Trevoh Chalobah (Chelsea) – 8.14
Partnering Nastasic at the back is Trevoh Chalobah, who made marked his return to Chelsea with a Player of the Match performance against Wolves on Monday. Chalobah provided an assist with one of two key passes, made seven clearances and found a teammate with 96.3% of his 80 passes to land a WhoScored rating of 8.14.
Antonee Robinson (Fulham) – 8.18
Rounding off the backline is Fulham’s Antonee Robinson, who earned a WhoScored rating of 8.18 in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Leicester. The American was solid at the back, making three tackles, three interceptions and three clearances.
Mateo Kovacic (Manchester City) – 9.49
The first of three Manchester City players in the side, Mateo Kovacic was directly involved in two of City’s six goals at Ipswich on Sunday, netting with one of two shots and providing one assist from three key passes. With an additional three tackles, Kovacic is good value for his inclusion with a WhoScored rating of 9.49.
Phil Foden (Manchester City) – 9.08
Phil Foden maintained his impressive form with a brace and one assist against Ipswich on Sunday. Foden struck with two of four shots and provided one assist from two key passes to feature with a WhoScored rating of 9.08.
Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth) – 9.57
Bournemouth smashed Newcastle 4-1 in Saturday’s lunchtime kickoff, with Justin Kluivert directly involved in all four goals. The Dutchman bagged a hat-trick from three shots and registered one assist from three key passes on his way to a WhoScored rating of 9.57.
Ludovic Blas (Rennes) – 9.35
Rennes may have lost 2-1 to Brest, but Ludovic Blas did enough to claim the WhoScored Player of the Match award with a rating of 9.35. Blas netted with one of five shots, completed eight dribbles and made six key passes.
Jeremy Doku (Manchester City) – 9.55
Completing the Manchester City contingent, Jeremy Doku landed a WhoScored rating of 9.55 against Ipswich. Doku scored with one of two shots and registered one assist from three key passes, while four successful dribbles and two tackles helped the Belgian secure his spot in the side.
Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) – 9.93
Saving the best until last, Kylian Mbappe is the European Player of the Week. Mbappe scored his 11th and 12th league goals of the season as Real Madrid eased to a 4-1 win over Las Palmas. The Frenchman was unfortunate not to add an assist having made five key passes to land a WhoScored rating of 9.93.
