Team News

St. Johnstone
Ross County
  • St Johnstone boss Craig Levein named four changes to the Saints side was defeated 1-0 by Aberdeen at Pittodrie, before they took the lead in Livingston but lost 2-1 to already-relegated Livingston last weekend.
  • David Keltjens started at left-back, replacing Andy Considine as Saints opted to change shape. Cammy MacPherson took Matt Smith's spot to join Dan Phillips in front of the Saints back four.
  • Stevie May started on the left-hand side of midfield, as Connor Smith made way. Graham Carey and Nicky Clark helped support Adama Sidibeh up front, as Benji Kimpioka dropped onto the bench.
  • Interim Ross County boss Don Cowie named an unchanged Staggies side that clinched a 2-1 win over Hibernian in the Highlands to jump to tenth position in the league table, before they were defeated in Dingwall 5-1 by Motherwell on Saturday.
  • Will Nightingale joined Jack Baldwin and Ryan Leak in the Staggies' back three, as the Highlanders decided to change shape. Josh Reid replaced George Harmon at left wing-back with Michee Efete keeping his place on the right hand side.
  • Eamonn Brophy replaced Josh Sims, with Victor Loturi the other player to sit amongst the substitutes, in order to partner Simon Murray in attack. Jordan White came off the bench to score the winner against Hibs but wasn't rewarded with a start at the weekend.

  • A massive basement battle takes place in Perth this Saturday as eleventh hosts tenth, with St Johnstone and Ross County looking to steer themselves away from the dreaded relegation playoff place.
  • St Johnstone spurned a great chance to leapfrog Ross County, as their woeful recent record in Livingston continued. Saints are winless in four league visits to Livi, since a 2-1 victory back in February 2022. The hosts have lost 10 of their last 13 Scottish Premiership matches and, worryingly heading into this game, their three wins have come away to Hibs, Aberdeen and Ross County.
  • The Staggies will also be disappointed that they couldn't pull away from Saints, and create a gap heading into this game as they were mauled by Motherwell in their own back yard. Ross County blew the chance to win back-to-back home games against the Well for the first time since November 2015, as their second-longest ever winning run in the top flight came to an end last weekend.
  • The joint-worst home team in the division takes on the second worst away team in the league so, despite Saints beating County home and away alongside the Highlanders winning the first league meeting, a share of the spoils seems likely on Saturday.
