Team News

Austin FC
Portland
  • Zan Kolmanic continues to be out.
  • Gyasi Zardes missed the last match with a knock so he is still a doubt until we hear more information.
  • Eryk Williamson, David Ayala, and Jaroslaw Niezgoda are all out for the season.

Prediction

  • Austin FC is winless since the MLS has restarted. Last match they were able to grab a point from New England, which was finally at least a positive step. With how bad their season has gone they are still only one point out of the last playoff spot. The coaching staff wants to move to a 3-4-3 and it's intriguing to see how it will work. Ideally, Austin's best group of players will be on the field so I like the change.
  • Portland continues to shock as they are in some crazy form right now. In their last three matches, they defeated RSL 2-1, drew at Seattle 2-2, and defeated LAFC 2-0 over the weekend. All playoff teams, showing that Portland can still play with the big boys even if the season hasn't been smooth sailing. Portland are now just one point back from a playoff spot, although all the teams around them have a game or two in hand.
