Team News

Arsenal
Crystal Palace
  • Mohamed Elneny will be out for an extended period of time after having surgery for a knee injury.
  • Eddie Nketiah will likely remain out until after the international break with an injury.
  • Both William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu were taken off with injuries in midweek, so are doubts to play in this game.
  • Nathan Ferguson and Sam Johnstone remain sidelined with injury.
  • Vicente Guaita injured his hamstring in training, which forced him to miss the loss against Brighton and it remains to be seen whether he will play in this game.
  • Will Hughes and James McArthur will have to be assessed before this game, as they too missed that game with Brighton.
  • Albert Sambi Lokonga will be unable to play as he is on loan from Arsenal.

Prediction

  • Arsenal come into this game after being knocked out of the Europa League by Sporting on Thursday. In the Premier League however, they have won their last five games in a row since the defeat to Manchester City. At home they have picked up 32 points, only City (34) have picked up more on home soil in the league this season.
  • Patrick Vieira was sacked as manager of Crystal Palace on Friday, after they had gone 11 games without a win in the league, the longest winless run of any side in the Premier League this season. They have only scored nine goals away from home in the league this season, only three teams have scored fewer.
  • Five of the last ten meetings between these sides have been draws, but Arsenal will be eager to put their Europa League exit behind them with a win.

  • CRY GK 41. J. Whitworth is invisible! 0cm, 0 kg! That's why Arsenal won!

  • Why was martinelli subbed off ?

  • @betwithme why not?

  • Draw or crystal palace. A kick of a dying horse

  • @buthethi Good one : -)))

  • @buthethi XD

  • fiendly 2-1

  • Arsenal 5-0 Crystal Palace. This is not the right time for Crystal Palace to visit Emirates stadium.

  • Arsenal win Halftime/fulltime. Arsenal 1st goal. Arsenal win to nil. Arsenal win 2 or 3 zip.

  • Ironically, Palace played and lost their first PL game of this season against Arsenal. I said can't wait for Vieira to be sacked there and he's not here now, got what he deserved for cheating his way into award nomination. But I have to admit that Arsenal did very well in PL with that inexperienced squad, they shouldn't bottle it as they're not playing in any other competition anymore.

  • Some of the media are saying Patrick had the sack as he was too soft with the players and obviously had a poor run of results.Palace have asked Roy Hodgson to take over until the end of the season.

  • new manager bounce?

  • Arsenal 3-0

  • Arsenal will be fired up to win this after the poor game in midweek.

  • Trossard will start for sure. He was on the bench against Sporting in week. Either Martinelli or most likely Jesus will drop out for him.
