Team News

Netherlands
Qatar
  • Memphis Depay and Marten De Roon, who were both injury doubts, came off the bench in the Netherlands 1-1 draw with Ecuador, and are once again expected to start on the bench.
  • Matthijs De Ligt didn't start against Ecuador but could start against Qatar.
  • Qatar suffered no injury concerns in their second match against Senegal, and have a full squad to select from.
  • Mohammed Muntari scored Qatar's only goal and should be worthy of a start in place of Assim Madibo.

Prediction

  • The Netherlands play hosts Qatar who will be bowing out of the tournament, after failing to win either of their first two games.
  • The Netherlands know they can qualify should they avoid defeat, which should be relatively straight forward against a team with nothing to play for. They will want to top the group by winning comfortably here in order to play the runners up from Group B, rather than the winners should they finish in second place.
  • As for Qatar, they were eliminated from the tournament after losing to Senegal and Ecuador, and will be playing for a chance to pick up their first ever World Cup points. They scored their first goal in the 3-1 defeat to Senegal, so anything could be possible.
  • While it is too much to say they could beat the Netherlands, we have seen many shocks this tournament already.
