Team News

  • Daniel Drinkwater made his Burnley debut in their shock 3-1 defeat in the EFL Cup to League One side Sunderland in midweek. Joe Hart also featured on Wednesday and conceded three goals from four shots on target. Neither will start here.
  • Johann Gudmundsson has a minor calf injury and is unlikely to feature here, in what should be an otherwise unchanged XI from the side that drew away to Wolves last weekend.
  • Aaron Lennon or Jeff Hendrick will deputise for Gudmundsson, most likely the latter.
  • Joe Gomez has been tipped to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back to help deal with Burnley's aerial threat.
  • James Milner could get the nod ahead of Georginio Wijnaldum to add physicality in midfield.

  • Burnley have made a good start to the season with four points from their first three league games. Ashley Barnes has four goals in that time and is the one to watch for the home side.
  • Liverpool are the only side with a 100 per cent record in the Premier League but have conceded in every game so far, which will be cause for concern for Jurgen Klopp.
  • Liverpool will be desperate to avoid a slip-up before the international break but both teams have scored in each of the last five meetings. Liverpool are favourites but can expect a tough game on Saturday evening.

  • didn't salah hit the post?

  • @BSN I think it was counted a shot on target, Pope seemed to touch into onto the post.

  • Chel, ManUtd, Arse and Tott outside the top 5. Sure it's early but I seriously doubt that Liverpool and City will get any real competition this year either. A bit boring, reminds me of La Liga with 2 or 3 contesters each year.

  • @Fromhell Wouldnt rule out Arsenal, theyre yet to play and their attack is scary tbf

  • @Kendev My dark horses this season

  • @Kendev Hell isn't cold enough yet for Arsenal to win the PL mate

  • X2 & under (3,5)

  • @MartinArmenia089 I'll be shocked if Burnley do not win 2-1. Expect Wood to score.

  • @SeuneMilmas Are you really in shock though?

  • @SeuneMilmas Great prediction.

  • @SeuneMilmas He did score! You got the result all wrong but that was a Typo I guess

  • @SeuneMilmas Wood scored indeed but I guess you are still in shock.

  • Ashley Barnes will cause Liverpool a lot of trouble. I think this will be a scrappy game of football, expect to see VAR in action and a penalty or two. That being said, over 90 minutes I don't think Burnley will be able to compete with Liverpool's fast pace playing style. A goal from Barnes and a penalty on top of that. Burnley 2-4 Liverpool.

  • 1-1 Barnes and Firmino

  • Firmino [ Burnley 1 : 3 Liverpool ]

  • 0-3, time for a clean sheet

  • Burnley 0-2 Liverpool

  • 1-0 Liverpool.

  • This game will decide the champion

  • @nekt I take it back
